Route Overview:

Join us for a weekend of riding, camaraderie, and backcountry exploration! This ride is ideal for beginners, with flexibility built in for more experienced riders.

📅 Saturday, October 18

• Meet: 0900 @ Chevron Coalinga (301 W Elm Ave)

• KSU: 0930 sharp

• Route Highlights:

  • Parkfield Grade to Hwy 46

  • Old 41 to Creston

  • Lunch at The Longbranch in Creston

  • Ride La Panza Rd to Hwy 58, then explore Pozo-La Panza OHV (optional)

  • Traverse Carrizo Plain via the central route to Hwy 166, into Taft

📅 Sunday, October 19

• Ready to ride: 0800

• KSU: 0830

• Head back into Carrizo Plain via Elkhorn Grade

• Travel along the San Andreas Fault (Elkhorn Rd), with an optional detour on Hurricane Rd

• Ride Hwy 58 back to La Panza/Pozo (east to west)

• Lunch in Shandon – hole-in-the-wall Mexican spot inside the market

• Head home at your own pace

🟢 All off-road segments have asphalt alternatives, and all dirt roads are county maintained (some better than others). This is a great intro to adventure riding – let’s ride, adapt, and enjoy together!
